A temple priest died under suspicious circumstances in Bhadohi district of UP. The body of the elderly temple priest Sitaram was found stained with blood in a room in the temple premises. This incident took place at about 100 years old Hanuman temple located at Bawan Bigha pond of Suriyawan police station area. The police arrived two hours after receiving the information, took possession of the body and sent it for post-mortem. Accusing the district police of negligence, the local people said that the priest had received death threats earlier also and had the police taken action earlier, the priest would have been alive today.

The whole matter pertains to about 100 years old Hanuman temple situated in Bawan Bigha pond under Suriawan police station area of ​​Bhadohi. Here the body of the elderly temple priest Sitaram was found soaked in blood in a suspicious condition. Jai Prakash Dharmacharya, close to Hanuman temple, told that priest Sitaram was a saint of Ramanand sect and his behavior was very simple. Incidents of drinking, theft and conversion were continuously taking place around the temple, which the priests were continuously protesting against.

Police did not take action

Bharatiya Kisan Sangh’s provincial officer Anil Mishra said that priest Sitaram had complained several times to the police station and higher officials that he had received death threats, but the police did not take any action. If the police had taken action then Pujari Baba would have been alive. As soon as information about the incident was received, Superintendent of Police Dr. Meenakshi Katyayan and other policemen reached the spot and inspected the spot.

Police denied murder

Additional Superintendent of Police Dr. Tejveer Singh released two videos on his social platform and said that the police had immediately reached there after receiving information about the incident. ASP said that the upper skin on the neck of the deceased’s body was already peeled. Further legal action is being taken. However, in its statement, the police directly refused to consider the priest’s death as murder.
