In the Lohgarh murder case of Pune, the police intensified the investigation by recreating the scene at the incident site. It is alleged that Sia Goyal and Chetan Choudhary tried to conceal the alleged conspiracy of murder, Google search, delete chat and destroy evidence. Forensic investigation and interrogation are revealing new layers of the case.
Ketan Agrawal Murder: The game played on the heights of the historic Lohgarh Fort of Pune has shocked the senses of both law and humanity. At exactly 6:30 am on Sunday morning, when fog was engulfing the fort walls, a team of Pune Police reached there with accused Siya Goyal. The objective was to recreate the horrifying scene of the death of 26-year-old software engineer Ketan Aggarwal. When the police dropped a dummy from the same wall of the fort into the deep moat below, the rustling sound echoing in the air testified to the terrible conspiracy that had been hatched on the morning of June 18.

As the investigation progresses, layers of cruelty of Sia Goyal and her lover Chetan Chaudhary are revealed which are more horrifying than any psycho-thriller film. When the cyber team of the police searched the mobile phones of both, the soul-shattering truth came to light. Before the murder, both of them had searched on Google the most dangerous ‘death points’ of Lohgarh Fort, the routes to reach there and deep trenches. Not only this, it was recorded in his search history – “How to kill by giving poison, so that the police does not get suspicious?” Both of them had received complete training from Google on what lies to tell to the police when caught, and which WhatsApp messages and recycle bins to delete after committing a crime. To hide his identity, on the day of the murder, lover Chetan had left his mobile at a shop and was using another secret phone.

That mystery call of 338 hours and that mysterious person wearing ‘hoodie’ in 33 degrees
The suspense of this murder mystery deepened when the police searched Sia’s call records. From January to 7 am on June 18, Siya had called the same number 2004 times and talked for about 338 hours. That means 2 hours every day! This number did not belong to anyone else, but to her boyfriend Chetan Chaudhary. The second biggest clue that the police got was from the CCTV footage installed near the fort. In the scorching 33 degree heat of June, a man was walking around wearing a hoodie and headphones from head to toe. This craze of wearing a hoodie in the scorching heat strengthened the police’s suspicion and the person wearing the hoodie turned out to be Chetan Choudhary, who was standing right behind Siya at the time of the murder.

“Didn’t like the wig and the stutter…” But the truth was something else!
During interrogation, Siya made a very strange claim that she did not like fiance Ketan’s wig and his stuttering, so she removed him from the way. But Ketan’s father Vishal Aggarwal exposed this lie and said that even before the marriage was fixed, Sia’s family was told everything about Ketan’s wig. In fact, Sia was so blind in love with her boyfriend Chetan that she even wanted to stop the trip to Bali with Ketan, for which she even hid Ketan’s passport.

Snake’s excuse and bloody consequences in the third attempt
This murder was not a sudden accident, but it was the third dreadful attempt to kill Ketan:
- First conspiracy of 31 May: Ketan was fond of trekking. He asked Siya to go to Lohgarh, and it was here that the thought of throwing him into the ditch came to Siya’s mind.
- That ‘snake lie’ of June 14: Siya reached the edge of the fort for the first time with Ketan and pushed him. Luckily, Ketan got stuck with the help of a tree. When he asked why she pushed, Siya smiled and said, “There was a snake there, I did this to save your life.” Innocent Ketan came home and kept telling everyone that Sia saved his life.
- Last day of June 18: Siya called Ketan again to the same death point on the pretext of pre-wedding photoshoot. While Ketan was looking at the valleys, Siya and Chetan, who came from behind, together pushed him into a deep ditch.

“My daughter is guilty, so throw her down from there too!”
Sunil Gaikwad, who exhumed the body, said that when Ketan’s crushed skull and bloody body were being taken out from the ditch, every eye present there was crying, but Siya was standing as quiet as a stone. Seeing his artificiality, the policeman and Ketan’s sister became suspicious that very day. Now, after taking out a candle march for Ketan in Pimpri-Chinchwad, mother Rakhi Aggarwal has tearfully demanded death sentence for both the culprits. At the same time, seeing the seriousness of the matter, Sia’s mother Pooja Goyal has also broken down and said – “If my daughter is guilty, then the law should throw her down from the ditch of the same Lohgarh Fort from where my son like Ketan was thrown.” At present, both the accused are behind the bars and the final truth of the deleted chats is yet to come out from the forensic lab which will send them to the gallows.
