At the premiere of ‘Lock Upp 2’, Akanksha Chamola made a shocking revelation that she and Gaurav Khanna have been living separately for the last one year and now both are going to get a divorce.
The marriage of TV industry’s famous couple Gaurav Khanna and Akanksha Chamola is now on the verge of breaking. Akanksha, who arrived as a contestant in the premiere of Netflix’s reality show ‘Lock Upp Season 2’, made such a revelation which shocked everyone. She told on camera that she and Gaurav have been living separately for the last one year and now both have decided to get divorced. The special thing is that Akanksha made it clear that there is no bitterness between the two, but their thinking regarding the future is different.
Akanksha Chamola announces divorce in ‘Lock Upp 2’
During the show, when Akanksha Chamola got the option to tell a big secret of her life, she said, “Gaurav and I are going to get a divorce. We have been living separately for the last one year and this thing was not made public till now.” After this revelation, everyone present there including the show’s host Farah Khan and Ritesh Deshmukh were shocked.
‘Everything is fine between us, but we don’t see a future together’
Akanksha further said, “The relationship between me and Gaurav is not bad. We still talk to each other. But we feel that we are not right for each other as partners, because we both see our future completely differently. Unfortunately, we are not together in that future.” He made it clear that this decision was not taken due to any quarrel or dispute but due to mutual understanding.
Signs of separation were found in January itself
In January this year, Akanksha Chamola had shared a mysterious post on social media, which fueled speculations about their relationship. The post read, “When a relationship is based only on needs, the heart is always sacrificed.” At that time both of them did not react to this, but now after Akanksha’s statement, that post is being linked to their relationship.
Gaurav and Akanksha got married in 2016.
Akanksha Chamola has been seen in TV shows like ‘Santoshi Maa’, ‘Yeh Hai Aashiqui’ and ‘Crime Patrol’. She and Gaurav Khanna met during an audition. Friendship gradually turned into love and both of them got married on 24 November 2016 in a grand ceremony that lasted for three days in Kanpur. During ‘Bigg Boss 19’, Gaurav Khanna spoke openly about his marriage and family in a conversation with YouTuber Mridul Tiwari. When he was asked a question about becoming a father, he said, “We will complete 9 years of marriage in November.” When asked if he had children, he replied, “No. My wife doesn’t want to. I want to, but we have a love marriage. Whatever she says, we have to obey. If we love you, we have to obey.”
Gaurav had supported his wife’s decision
During that time, Gaurav had taken his wife’s side and said, “Her thinking is also right. There are a lot of responsibilities. We both support each other. If I stay at work the whole day and she also gets work, then with whom will she leave the children? We do not want someone else to raise our children. I told her that I want a child, but when she explained her point, I understood her point.”
