Indore: The District and Sessions Court of Indore has sentenced an accused to double life imprisonment for raping his step daughter. Giving more information about the decision, Public Prosecutor Abhijeet Singh Rathore said that the important decision was given by Judge Nausheen Khan, a specially constituted POCSO court in the District and Sessions Court of Indore. Rathore said, “In this case, a stepfather accused of molesting his stepdaughter has been given double life imprisonment under different sections.

This case is of a minor girl whose father had died. His mother had married another man. Soon after the marriage, the stepfather started sexually abusing the girl repeatedly. He also threatened the girl that if she told anyone about this, he would kill her. Rathore told that the stepfather had left the house for some time and came back after 1.5 years and again started raping the minor girl. To prevent the matter from becoming public, the stepfather also tried to blackmail the mother and daughter by making objectionable videos so that the matter does not reach the police.

Police Inspector Satish Patel conducted a complete investigation in this case. Collected evidence and presented the charge sheet in the court. Assistant District Public Prosecutor Latika Jamra presented the case in the court. After examining all the facts and documents, the court sentenced the stepfather to separate life imprisonment under sections 5 and 6. He was also sentenced to 7 years’ rigorous imprisonment under Sections 13 and 14 of the POCSO Act and 3 years’ imprisonment under the IT Act. Rathore said that a fine of Rs 20,000 was also imposed. A compensation order of Rs 3 lakh was issued to the victim under the Victim Compensation Scheme for her mental and physical suffering.
