In Ghaziabad, a family considered their son dead and performed the last rites. The man returned alive on his thirteenth day, because he was released from jail and went to Punjab. The police are now investigating the identity of the real deceased.
Such a news has come from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, which you will be surprised to hear. Here, a person who was cremated by a family considering him ‘dead’, returned home on his own thirteenth day. This filmy looking story is of 40 year old Giridhar Singh living in Vaishali, Ghaziabad.
What happened after all?
The matter is such that on May 16, a person named Shailesh Verma had filed a complaint against Giridhar. The allegation was that Giridhar attacked Shailesh with a hammer, due to which he got 12 stitches in his head. In this case, the police registered an FIR and sent Giridhar to Dasna jail. After a few days he was released from jail, but did not return home and suddenly disappeared.
The family members searched for him everywhere. When he was nowhere to be found, they lodged a missing report with the police. The police were still investigating when a dead body was found in the Mussoorie canal. Police informed the family. The family saw the dead body and said that it was their son Giridhar. He was so sure about his identity that the police did not even consider it necessary to conduct a DNA test and handed over the body to them.
The family, grief-stricken over the loss of their only son, cremated the body. The rituals of thirteenth day were also completed. Exactly on the 13th day, when there was an atmosphere of mourning at home, someone knocked at the door. When the family opened the door, they were shocked. His son Giridhar Singh was standing alive in front. For a moment there was a mixed atmosphere of happiness, fear and surprise in the house.
What do the police say?
A police officer said, “The family themselves had said that the body was that of Giridhar. They were absolutely sure. If there was even the slightest doubt, a DNA test would have been conducted. But now we are re-investigating the case and will also interrogate Giridhar’s family.” Investigation has revealed that after being released from jail, Giridhar had gone to Radhaswami Satsang Beas in Punjab. Now the police is investigating the case from this angle also and is trying to find out who was the person whose last rites were performed.
