8th Pay Commission News: More than 1 crore employees and pensioners have their eyes on the 8th Pay Commission. Know those 3 big issues, which can bring a big change in salary.
8th CPC Latest Update: There is a huge stir at the moment regarding the 8th Pay Commission. More than 1 crore employees of the country (50 lakh active employees and 65 lakh pensioners) want to know only one thing, how much will their salary increase? Meanwhile, the employee organizations have put forward some demands before the government, which if accepted, will result in a lottery for the employees. Let us know the 3 biggest twists which are of great use to you in the new Pay Commission and what is going on right now…
1. Demand to increase basic salary directly to ₹ 69,000
At present the minimum basic salary of central employees is ₹ 18,000, but the demand made by the employee organizations has surprised everyone. JCM and Defense Federation say that in view of inflation it should be directly increased to ₹ 69,000. An organization in Maharashtra has said that it will be increased to ₹65,000. At the same time, Railway Technical Association (IRTSA) suggests that it should be at least ₹ 52,600. If the government finds a middle path among these, then there can be a big jump in your basic salary.
2. Big demand also arose regarding DA
Many suggestions have also been given regarding Dearness Allowance i.e. DA. Employee organizations say that in view of rising inflation, the method of calculation and increase of DA should be changed. Some parties have also suggested that consideration should be given to adding DA to the basic salary after a certain level. This is the reason why employees are also keeping a special eye on the decisions related to DA.
3. New formula to change fitment factor
Fitment factor is considered to be one of the most important issues in the 8th Pay Commission. This is the formula on the basis of which the old basic salary is converted into the new basic salary. This time a separate demand is being raised for the technical and safety staff of Railways. Organizations say that according to the responsibility, the fitment factor should be fixed at different levels at 2.92, 3.50 and 3.80. If a positive decision is taken on this, then a good increase in salary may be seen.
What is the Commission doing now?
At present the Commission is talking to employee organizations, unions and pensioners in different states. Their opinions, suggestions and demands are being collected so that all parties can be taken into consideration while preparing the final report. Many important meetings are scheduled to take place in the coming days, where issues related to employees will be discussed.
Will the recommendations come in 2027?
Looking at the current situation, the final recommendations of the Commission are expected to come by 2027. However, this does not mean that the new salary will start coming from that time. The record of earlier Pay Commissions suggests that the recommendations may take additional time to be implemented. This means that employees may have to wait a little longer.
