Gautam Adani

Gautam Adani, the country’s leading industrialist and chairman of Adani Group, while addressing the students and teachers in IIT Kharagpur, said that self -reliance is the biggest need of today’s India. He informed that today’s fight is being fought not only on the boundaries, but also in the fields of technology, data and digital dominance. India will have to prove itself in these areas.

Addressing the youth at the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of IIT Kharagpur, Adani described this fight not with traditional weapons, but a new freedom struggle being fought through technology and data. He said that the land of Kharagpur, where many freedom fighters sacrificed their lives, still explains to us the real meaning of Vande Mataram today – unwavering resolutions and sacrifices for the freedom of the country.

A shock can shake our digital economy from the root

Gautam Adani expressed serious concern about India’s technical dependence. He told that we import more than 90% semiconductor. If for some reason the supply stops or it is banned, then our entire digital economy may come to a standstill. Similarly, he also mentioned energy security and said that we import 85% oil. If the global situation deteriorated, our economy can stop.

Adani also insisted on the importance of data and said, when our data goes outside the boundaries of the country, it becomes a raw material for foreign algorithms. This is a big threat to our digital sovereignty. Innovator will be the global leader of the coming time

Addressing the students, Gautam Adani said that today’s era is of rapid change. At a time, the institutions and companies which will not find steps with the speed of this change, they will get into the dust of history. He said, tomorrow’s innovators will be the global leader of the coming times. Those who will not be able to shield themselves according to the new era, they will be left behind. Adani believes that now the cost competition in areas like Artificial Intelligence and Robotics is starting to end. It is not enough to depend on only cheap laborers. We have to move forward in innovation, it is not enough to copy, he clarified.

Student is the new generation freedom fighter

He called the students a new generation freedom fighter and said passionately, your code, your thinking and your innovative ability are the real security of today’s India. You will decide whether India will write its own future or will run on the behest of others.

Adani also shared the struggles for the beginning of his life. Adani, who came to Mumbai at the age of 16, came to Mumbai and stepped from the diamond business, took over the plastic factory of her brother at the age of 19. Taking advantage of the 1991 economic liberalization, he laid the foundation of Adani Enterprises. Today, his group handles the management of the country’s largest private energy portfolio, logistics network and airports.

Gautam Adani emphasized the need for strong coordination between education and industry. He gave the idea of making living labs in IIT Kharagpur, where students can try their research in real life in areas like renewable energy, logistics, smart mobility and airports. He also announced to start AdaniIT Platinum Jubilee Change Makers Fellowships, which will give youths a chance to work in important projects of the country.

One train leads to a job, another towards heritage

At the end of his message, Adani said, one train leads you to the job, another towards heritage. We have to walk on the train that groans the future of India. He told four things especially-the new generation should become a freedom fighter, first work for the country, strengthen infrastructure and technology, and the education-industry should be combined. Adani mentioned freedom fighter Tridib Kumar Chaudhary, who was lodged in Hijli Jail at just 19 years old. He said that a new story of independence can be written from such spirit.
