Amidst the politics of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis and Uddhav Thackeray reached Nagpur on the same flight. Both of them met, but BJP and Shiv Sena (UBT) leaders called it a mere coincidence.
Maharashtra Political News: The biggest, unexpected and shocking news of this time is coming out from the politics of Maharashtra, which has created panic in the political circles of the entire country. Two such leaders, who till yesterday were considered staunch opponents of each other, whose political war between them had led to the overthrow of power in Maharashtra, were suddenly seen sitting together at the same place in the sky like a closed room. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray came face to face in a regular commercial flight of IndiGo from Mumbai to Nagpur. The suspense has reached its peak regarding what happened between them during this journey.
When two giants collided in the sky: ‘This is the biggest news of the day!’
The whole incident started when Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was leaving for his hometown Nagpur, and Uddhav Thackeray also boarded the same flight to start his Vidarbha tour. Uddhav was not alone, he was accompanied by his son Aditya Thackeray, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut and several other top strategists of Shiv Sena (UBT). As soon as the eyes of both the parties met each other, the temperature inside the plane suddenly increased. According to sources, the two arch rivals not only shook hands warmly but also had a confidential conversation for some time. After this meeting, Devendra Fadnavis himself said to the media smilingly, “The meeting of the three of us together is the biggest news of the day.”

Meeting of six MPs immediately after the rebellion: Just a coincidence or a secret deal?
This joint journey has made political pundits perk up because this meeting took place at a very delicate juncture. Recently, Uddhav Thackeray’s party suffered a major setback when six of its Lok Sabha MPs left the party. This was Uddhav Thackeray’s first visit to Vidarbha after this open rebellion and disintegration of MPs, where he was going to Nagpur for damage control. At a time when Uddhav is facing a deep political crisis, is there any new political equation hidden behind his meeting with Devendra Fadnavis, the biggest warlord of the opposition camp? Is there going to be a big ‘game’ again in Maharashtra politics? This suspense is now revolving in everyone’s mind.

‘We are not enemies, we are just rivals’: BJP intensifies damage control efforts
As soon as the news of this heavenly meeting spread on the ground, the ruling Mahayuti alliance and especially the BJP intensified efforts to downplay any political significance of it. BJP MLC Prasad Lad, taking the lead, said that he is more surprised that a big leader like Uddhav Thackeray is leaving the private jet and traveling by a normal commercial flight. Lad clarified, “Political rivalry does not make leaders enemies. We are definitely rivals, but not real enemies. We keep having cordial talks.” He also reminded that despite all the bitterness, Uddhav Thackeray had attended his daughter’s wedding, maintaining his family relationship. On the rebellion of the MPs, he clearly said that this process was going on for the last four months and BJP has nothing to do with it.
‘Leaving private jet to save fuel’: Shiv Sena’s (UBT) counterattack and show of strength at the airport
On the other hand, firebrand leader of Shiv Sena (UBT) Sushma Andhare also did not give much importance to this meeting and called it purely a ‘coincidence’. He sarcastically said that when there is a discussion going on in the country about the use of private jets by the leaders and saving fuel, then this commercial trip of Uddhav ji should be seen from the same perspective and not as a secret political gesture.
Even though the leaders were calling it normal, the view at Nagpur Airport was telling something else. As soon as Uddhav Thackeray landed, thousands of workers gathered there. Amidst the echo of drums and sky-high slogans, the entire area was covered with huge posters of Balasaheb Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray. This show of strength by Uddhav and that heavenly meeting with Fadnavis after the departure of six MPs, is indicating a big storm in the politics of Maharashtra in the coming days.
