Women and Child Development Minister Lakshmi Rajwade reached Jagargunda for the first time by road. He inspected Anganwadi centres, interacted with women and reviewed development works.
Raipur. Bastar, which was once in the headlines due to Naxalite activities, is now moving forward on the new path of development, trust and public participation. Continuous changes are visible in the fields of education, health, women empowerment, nutrition and employment in remote areas. To take stock of this changing Bastar, Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Minister Smt. Lakshmi Rajwade reached Jagargunda, Chintalnar, Purvarti and Silger of Sukma district on a one-day tour.
Became the first woman minister to reach Jagargunda by road
The most special thing about this visit was that Mrs. Lakshmi Rajwade became the first woman minister to reach Jagargunda by road. Their arrival by road in this area which has been affected by Naxalites for a long time is being considered as a message of development and strong presence of the government. Local people also called it a historic initiative.
Inspected Anganwadi centres, participated in food distribution and baby shower programs
The minister inspected the Anganwadi centers of Purvarti and Silger. During this, he reiterated the commitment of the state government towards maternal and child health by participating in the Annaprashan and baby shower programme. He spent time with children, interacted with women and motivated them to take maximum benefits of various schemes of the government.
Special emphasis given on women empowerment and livelihood
Mrs. Rajwade said that areas which were once characterized by violence and insecurity are today becoming new centers of women empowerment, education, nutrition and social development. He said that through self-help groups, women are becoming financially self-reliant and creating new employment opportunities.
Kritika Mahila Sankul level organization building inaugurated
During the visit, the Minister inaugurated the Krutika Mahila Cluster Level Organization (CLF) building in Jagargunda under the National Rural Livelihood Mission ‘BIHAN’. He met the women of self-help groups and took information about their livelihood, self-employment and economic activities and gave necessary directions to the concerned officials.
Rural women told historical tour
Rural women said that for the first time a woman minister reached Jagargunda directly by road and interacted with them. He also put forward his problems before the minister. The women said that this initiative has strengthened their trust in the government and now they feel that development has actually reached their villages.
Development is accelerating in Bastar under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai.
Mrs. Rajwade said that the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai is working with the aim of bringing development to the last village of Bastar. Public welfare schemes are being continuously expanded by giving priority to roads, health, education, nutrition, employment and women empowerment.
Bastar is changing with peace, security and development
The Minister said that the bravery of the security forces, cooperation of the local people and the combined efforts of the development-oriented policies of the government have created a new atmosphere of peace and stability in Bastar. In areas like Jagargunda, Purvarti and Silger, the smile of children, increasing confidence of women and new possibilities of development have today become the new identity of the changing Bastar.
