The 105th convocation of BHU was held in Varanasi. Degrees were awarded to 13,650 students and 29 meritorious students received 33 medals. Chief guest Dr. V.K. Saraswat gave a big statement on India’s air defense system and Agni-6 missile.

The 105th convocation ceremony held at Swatantra Bhawan of BHU seemed as if tradition, modern education and new resolutions were standing on the same stage. Started with floral tribute on the statue of Mahamana

The ceremony was started by chief guest Dr. V.K. Saraswat, Vice Chancellor Prof. Ajit Chaturvedi, Rector and Registrar offered flowers on the statue of Mahamana Madan Mohan Malviya. After this the program was formally inaugurated with invocation.

Vice Chancellor administered the oath of truth, service and patriotism

Vice Chancellor Prof. Ajit Chaturvedi administered the oath to the students to keep truth, morality, service and national interest paramount. He said that wherever BHU students go, they should make the country proud with their knowledge and culture.

A total of 13,650 degrees were awarded this year at the ceremony, including-

29 meritorious students got 33 medals, dominance of girl students

The most special moment of the ceremony was to honor the meritorious ones. A total of 33 gold medals were awarded to 29 toppers. This year also the girls performed brilliantly-

  • 20 out of 29 were brilliant students
  • Out of total 33 medals, 28 students got them.
  • one student was absent

The country’s eminent defense scientist Dr. V.K. reached the ceremony. While talking to the media, Saraswat said important things on the country’s security, missile technology and self-reliant defense system. “Our air defense system capable, deployed to protect Delhi”

Dr. Saraswat further said-

He said that India’s production agencies and research institutes are capable of making air defense systems and are progressing rapidly.

Scientist said on Agni-6, “It will be built when needed”

Dr. Saraswat said that missile projects are taken on priority according to the security needs of the country. Agni-5 is adequate and there is no major change in the current threat profile. Agni-6, 7 or 8 will be manufactured depending on future requirements. He said that India has developed many tactical missiles in the last decade, which include Pralay, Prahar, BrahMos (400 km range).

Dr. Saraswat’s contribution to India’s defense science

Dr. V.K. Saraswat is considered a major pillar of Indian defense research. He played a decisive role in projects like Prithvi, Dhanush, Prahar and Agni-5, two-stage ballistic missile defense system, INS Arihant, Cyber ​​Security Framework Super Computing Mission. He has been honored with Padmashree (1998) and Padma Bhushan (2013).
