What is the reason for swollen fingers?
According to Healthline and many studies, when the cold increases, the body reduces blood circulation in the hands and legs to save heat. Due to this, proper amount of blood circulation does not reach the toes and problems like swelling, redness or burning sensation start appearing there. Apart from this, due to deficiency of Vitamin D and Vitamin B12 in the body, toes start swelling. To get rid of this, you can compensate for Vitamin D deficiency by sitting in the sun in winter. At the same time, consuming meat, fish and eggs is beneficial for Vitamin B12.
These people may face more problems
This problem is especially visible in those people whose body catches cold quickly or whose blood circulation is a little slower than normal. Sometimes walking on a very cold floor, wearing tight shoes or keeping the feet exposed to cold for a long time also causes swelling. In many cases, it can also be a sign of a condition like chilblains, in which small blood vessels of the skin shrink due to cold and inflammation starts in the fingers.

These home remedies will provide relief
Immersing feet in lukewarm water- If your toes get swollen then you can use lukewarm water to cure it. All you have to do is take lukewarm water in a tub and soak your feet in it for 10-15 minutes. If you want, you can also add a little salt to the water. This is the fastest and easiest way to increase blood circulation.
Light massage with mustard oil- Mustard oil is also helpful in reducing swelling of fingers. For this, heat mustard oil lightly. After this, gently massage the swollen fingers and upper part of the foot. Mustard oil provides warmth and reduces swelling.
Celery Sake- Lightly heat dry celery in a pan. Tie it in a cloth and use it as a compress. This will increase warmth in the fingers and reduce pain/swelling.
Turmeric paste- Turmeric paste also helps in reducing swelling of fingers. For this, you have to make a paste by mixing turmeric with a little water or mustard oil and apply it on swollen fingers and leave it for 15-20 minutes. Turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties, which help in reducing swelling.
