Sarvagya Singh Kushwaha, resident of Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, has created a stir in the world of chess at the age of just 3 years. Sarvagya has done what even the best players dream of. He recently became the world’s youngest rated chess player. He achieved this feat at the age of 3 years, 7 months and 20 days. He achieved this feat by breaking the record of Anish Sarkar of Kolkata. His rapid rating is 1572, but after a few days of this world record, his problems have increased.

Matches won unfairly?

Clouds of controversy are now looming over 3 year old Sarvagya Singh. Actually, a complaint has been lodged with FIDE regarding the rating of Sarvagya Singh. It is alleged that unfair means were adopted by the coaches in obtaining their official ratings, which included violation of fair play rules. This complaint came to light just a week after Sarvagya Singh had made headlines across the world when he became the youngest player to achieve a FIDE rating at such a young age.

Sarvagya Singh Kushwaha recently participated in tournaments organized in Khandwa, Indore, Chhindwara and Mangaluru. In these, he surprised everyone by defeating many big and rated players. In particular, he defeated stalwarts like Abhijeet Awasthi with 1542 rating, Shubham Chaurasia with 1559 rating and Yogesh Namdev with 1696 rating. Due to which he achieved ratings. But now these achievements are under question, because it has been claimed in the complaint that these three players are coaches of the same academy where Sarvagya Singh takes training.

Father rejected the allegations

However, Sarvagya’s father Siddharth Singh Kushwaha rejected these allegations outright. He believes that this is the result of factionalism in the local chess association. The Chase Federation in Sagar is divided into two factions, and one faction is targeting the other. Siddharth said that a conspiracy is being hatched to defame his son for political reasons. He clarified that the players who lost were from Sagar, but it does not mean that there was no foul play.

Big uproar because of this

The complaint specifically mentions one tournament where Sarvgya and Yogesh Namdev were manually added after the official draw, making them face off against each other. Also, in the 10-minute rapid game, Namdev lost as time ran out while he went to the washroom. The complainant says that these incidents represent a clear violation of FIDE’s fair-play rules, and that the results were deliberately fixed to gain ratings. However, FIDE has not confirmed receipt of the complaint, as according to their policy they do not say anything publicly on such complaints.
