A daily wage laborer couple in Faridkot, Punjab won a lottery of Rs 1.5 crore. Fearing robbery, they left their house and hid. The police found them and assured them of their safety, after which they returned home.
Faridkot: A strange incident has come to light from Faridkot district of Punjab. It is reported that a couple who won Rs 1.5 crore in the Punjab State Lottery left their house due to fear of being robbed. Lottery winner Naseeb Kaur and her husband Ram Singh left their village and hid somewhere. Both are daily wage laborers of Saideke village.

The lottery ticket of Rs 200, which had the first prize, changed his life overnight. But the fear of robbery forced them to leave their homes and villages. The news of winning the big lottery spread like wildfire in the village. After this, the couple started worrying that they might become targets of robbers or criminals demanding ransom. The sudden fame, strangers coming to their house after hearing the news of lottery and strange commotion in the village, all these created fear in the mind of the couple. According to reports, after this they went into hiding.

Police said- no need to be afraid
On receiving information about this, Faridkot police found the couple and assured them of their safety. Deputy Superintendent of Police Tarlochan Singh said that the police themselves went to his house and assured him of complete security. He also said that the police is committed to ensuring the safety of the couple. This sudden wealth had created doubts in the minds of the couple. Because of this he became afraid of seeing strangers. However, Punjab Police said that they met the couple and promised them security, after which both of them returned home.
