‘Always S-Hole Countries, Why Never Norway Or Sweden?’ Trump Erupts Into Rant Against Immigrants

US President Donald Trump veered off a speech on inflation in Pennsylvania on Wednesday into one of his harshest anti-immigrant tirades yet, attacking “third world” nations and calling them a “shithole.

Speaking to supporters at the Mount Airy Casino Resort, Trump questioned why the US doesn’t attract more migrants from Scandinavia and mocked countries such as Somalia, Afghanistan, and Haiti as “filthy,” “dirty,” and “ridden with crime.”

“Why is it we only take people from s–hole countries, right?” he told the audience. “Why can’t we have some people from Norway, Sweden? Just a few.” He added, “Do you mind sending us a few people? Send us some nice people. But we always take people from Somalia. Places that are a disaster, right? Filthy, dirty, disgusting, ridden with crime.”

Trump repeated that he had imposed “a permanent pause on third world migration, including from “hellholes” like Afghanistan, Haiti, Somalia, and many others.

He revealed that he once asked senators, “Why is it we only take people from shithole countries, right?” before insisting, “I didn’t say shit. All you did, remember?”

Going on to mock Somalia directly, he remarked, “The only thing they’re good at is going after ships. But they don’t go after our ships… that same missile that knocks the crap out of them… we have the greatest.”

Trump Announces Permanent Migration Freeze On ‘Third World Countries’

In November, Trump said that his administration will “permanently pause” migration from what he described as “Third World Countries”, an announcement that followed the death of a National Guard member in an attack near the White House.

Officials identified the suspected gunman, 29-year-old Rahmanullah Lakanwal, as someone who entered the US through a Biden-era resettlement program created after the 2021 US withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Trump did not specify which countries he considered “third-world” or clarify what a permanent pause would entail. He said the plan would also include migration cases approved under former President Joe Biden’s administration.
