In a village of Fatehpur police station area, some people locked a young man in a room and put a garland of slippers around his neck. It is clearly visible in the viral video that the young man is surrounded from all sides, and people standing nearby are laughing and abusing. As soon as the video surfaced, there was a stir on social media and people expressed strong displeasure over this act.

Relationship broke down and dispute increased
The root of the matter is said to be a relationship that has been going on for a year. The relationship of a young man resident of Muzaffarabad was being finalized with a girl from rural Kotwali area. There was also talk of keeping the wedding date in February 2026. Meanwhile, the young man expressed his desire to see the girl once again, which the girl’s side also accepted. But after returning the young man suddenly refused to marry.
This refusal became the cause of controversy. The girl’s family got angry and it is alleged that on some pretext they called the young man, locked him in the room and humiliated him.
Resentment of family members, Panchayat was called in the village
As soon as this incident reached the young man’s family, the family members created an uproar. To calm the matter, a Panchayat sat in the village, which continued for a long time. Ultimately a compromise was reached between the two parties. However, this agreement could not reduce the public anger over the viral video.
Police activated, investigation started after making video basis
After the viral video surfaced, the police also took cognizance. According to Fatehpur police station, till now no written complaint has been received from the victim youth. Despite this, the police is investigating on the basis of the video. It is being ascertained who made the video and who are the people who misbehaved with the young man.
