The suspicious death of Inspector-in-charge Arun Kumar Rai in Jalaun has shaken the entire police department. The case has taken a mysterious turn after the arrest of female constable Meenakshi Sharma, CCTV footage and allegations of murder of her wife.

That bullet piercing the silence and the inspector’s death
Around 9 pm, Inspector Arun Kumar Rai placed his service revolver on his temple and fired. The bullet went straight through his head and he died on the spot. The pistol was found lying on his stomach. This incident was so unexpected that during the initial investigation it was considered a simple suicide. The most sensitive turn of the investigation came to light when the police got hold of the CCTV footage. It is clearly visible in the footage that lady constable Meenakshi Sharma enters the official residence of the Inspector at 9:15 pm. Three minutes later, i.e. at 9:18, she comes out in panic and tells the people present around that there has been a bullet fired inside. Saying this she goes away from there. These are those three minutes which changed the course of the entire case and changed this death from suicide to a mysterious case.
Depth of relationships and increasing closeness: The story started from 2024
According to sources, the inspector and Meenakshi were in contact since 2024. Both came close to each other during their posting at Konch police station. After this the Inspector was transferred from Konch to Orai, but Meenakshi continued to meet him. Many colleagues told that in the last few months, the conversation between the two had started becoming cold and a situation of tension had also started appearing. Wife Maya Rai’s complaint: It is not suicide, it is murder
Inspector’s wife Maya Rai has absolutely refused to consider her husband’s death as suicide. He has clearly alleged that this is not an ordinary incident but a planned murder. On the basis of her complaint, the police have registered a case of murder against woman constable Meenakshi Sharma and she has been taken into custody. Maya says that there was some kind of pressure on her husband for some time, the reason for which she was not able to understand.
