UCC Marriage Registration Uttarakhand: Uttarakhand cabinet has extended the deadline for marriage registration till January 2026. Besides, the formation of Minority Education Welfare Board was also approved. The assembly session will begin in Garsain from 19 August.

Uttarakhand Cabinet Decisions: Many important decisions were announced in the cabinet meeting on Sunday in Uttarakhand politics. A total of 5 proposals were approved in this meeting held at the Secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. The most important of these was the decision to increase the deadline for marriage registration under UCC and the proposal to constitute the Minority Education Welfare Board.

UCC registration deadline increased, now will be able to register by January 2026

The cabinet decided that marriage registration under UCC rules can now be done by January 2026. This will provide relief to the couples who could not register on time. This decision is considered important for citizens to increase administrative convenience.

Formation of Minority Education Welfare Board

The cabinet approved the formation of Uttarakhand Minorities Education Welfare Board. Its aim is that if people of Christian or other minority communities in the state open educational institutions, then their registration will be done through this board. This step has been taken to bring transparency and standardization in the education sector.

Preparations for the assembly session intensified

The session of Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly will start from August 19 in Garsain. Proposals and bills for this session were also discussed in the cabinet. Skill Development Minister Saurabh Bahuguna said that all preparations have been completed and every aspect is being noted to run the session smoothly.

Citizens and educational institutions will get convenience and transparency by increasing the deadline for UCC registration and formation of Minority Education Board. Now everyone’s eyes are on the assembly session starting from August 19, in which these proposals are going to be discussed in detail.
