In Bengaluru, three people of the same family, burdened with debt, committed suicide. The deceased include a 68-year-old grandmother, 38-year-old daughter and 14-year-old grandson. Police suspect that the family took this step due to business losses and debts.

Bengaluru: Three people of the same family, burdened with heavy debts, committed suicide by consuming poison. This heart-wrenching incident that happened on Monday at Tavarekere 2nd Cross near Koramangala in Bengaluru has shocked everyone. Grandmother, daughter and grandson, all three sacrificed their lives together, which has created a sensation in the area. The deceased have been identified as Madamma (68), her daughter Sudha (38) and grandson Monish (14). This tragic incident happened at around 9 in the morning. Police suspect that first the grandson was poisoned, and then the mother and daughter committed suicide by consuming poison.

Loss in business, debt burden

Madamma and Sudha had already done many small businesses. He first started the business of biryani. Later he also worked in selling chips. But, he suffered losses in both the businesses and incurred huge debts. When these businesses did not work, Madamma and Sudha started selling milk and working in some houses to run the household. It is being told that the debt had increased so much that it became difficult to repay it, and due to this grief the family took such a big step.

Sudha lived separately from her husband

Deceased Sudha lived separately from her husband. The husband and wife separated a few years ago, after which Sudha, her son Monish and mother Madamma lived in the same house. It is being said that worries about son Monish’s future, debt burden and financial constraints forced him to commit suicide. As soon as information about this incident was received, DCP Sara Fatima reached the spot and took stock. Sudduguntepalya police have registered the case and investigation is underway.

Search for death note continues

The Soco (Scene of Crime) team reached the spot and searched the house so that any death note or any other clue could be found. The bodies have been sent to St. John’s Hospital for post-mortem. Police and forensic experts are working together to find out the real reasons for the suicide. Police are also interrogating family members and acquaintances to get more information.
