When a heart attack occurs, a person often does not understand what to do immediately. It takes 1 hour to reach the hospital. If some medicines are given immediately as soon as the symptoms of heart attack appear, the person’s condition can be kept stable. Doctor Amandeep Aggarwal explains in a video that the risk of death can be reduced by giving 3 medicines in emergency. Know more details about it.
What medicines can be taken during a heart attack?
In case of some symptoms of heart attack like severe chest pain, sweating, vomiting etc., a person can take two important medicines.
- Disprin: Consuming 325 mg of the medicine helps in thinning the blood.
- Clopidogrel: 75 mg (antiplatelet) – According to the American Heart Association, first aid with clopidogrel reduces the risk of ischemic vascular events and positive effects begin to appear within 24 hours of starting treatment.
- Atorvastatin: Consuming 40 mg of the medicine helps stabilize the plaque and prevents the condition from worsening.
If aspirin is taken in acute myocardial infarction, the mortality rate reduces. This has been proved in studies also. Also, doctors recommend chewing Disprik. Chewing Disprin reduces the antiplatelet effect and makes the person feel relieved.

- First of all, keep the patient calm by lying straight and loosen the tight clothes.
- Call the emergency number immediately.
- If possible, give aspirin 1 tablet to the person to chew. Keep in mind that the person should not be allergic to the medicine. Three other medicines can also be given along with it.
- If breathing or pulse stops, CPR i.e. fast, deep presses on the chest should be started immediately. These first aid measures can save a person’s life.
