The love of his devotees never diminishes for Shri Krishna, who suffers all the joys and sorrows like humans and is called by names like woman-lover, thief etc… Similarly, in this Kalyug too, a young woman has married the idol of Shri Krishna in a grand ceremony.

This unique incident of becoming a human being and marrying God has happened in Badaun district of Uttar Pradesh. This matter is much discussed now. 28 year old Pinky Sharma married the idol of Lord Shri Krishna with traditional Hindu rituals. Post graduate Pinky Sharma is a great devotee of Shri Krishna and wanted to spend her entire life as a Krishna devotee. On Saturday, he married his beloved Shri Krishna Idol in a traditional wedding ceremony. Their families, relatives and villagers attended the ceremony like a traditional wedding. This unique marriage, which took place in village Kasimabad of Islamnagar police station area, is now making a lot of headlines across the country.

Traditional wedding with divine groom

Pinky’s house was beautifully decorated for this wedding. A wedding mandap was set up and his maternal uncle Indresh Kumar, dressed like a groom, came with the wedding procession carrying the idol of Shri Krishna in the car. When around 125 people reached the wedding venue in the procession, they were welcomed in a traditional manner.

After this, Pinky, dressed like a groom, lifted the idol of Shri Krishna in her arms and climbed the stage to perform various wedding rituals. After the ritual of applying vermilion, she exchanged the garland with the idol of Shri Krishna. Artists from Vrindavan danced on religious songs in this wedding ceremony. Also, a feast was organized for the entire village as part of the wedding. At the wedding ceremony, the bride Pinky carried the idol of the groom Shri Krishna in her lap and took seven rounds of the sacred fire. After this, the bride’s farewell ceremony took place the next morning. After marriage, the bride will stay at her parents’ house.

Pinky’s father Suresh Chandra told that Pinky had great faith in Shri Krishna since childhood. She often used to go to Vrindavan with him. About four months ago, she experienced what she described as divine intervention. While taking prasad at Banke Bihari temple, a pure gold ring fell on her dupatta. Pinky considered it a blessing and decided that she would not marry any human being but only Krishna.

Recently, when she fell ill, she surprised her family by going to Vrindavan and completing Govardhan Parikrama, lifting the heavy idol of Krishna. After this she recovered. He considered this as another divine sign. Due to these several incidents, her father said that he fully supports his daughter’s decision and has promised that he will give her a share in the family property like his sons. Pinky’s mother Ramendri said that Pinky’s idea seemed strange at first, but later the family accepted it because Pinky’s choice was born out of devotion.

In an interview, Pinky said that her life is dedicated to God. He said that education has its place, but his peace lies in devotion and dedication to Krishna. Whatever it may be, there is a saying that God is present in every particle.
