Six people of a family died when a car fell into an 800 feet deep gorge at Saptashrungi Garh Ghat in Nashik, Maharashtra. These pilgrims were going to Saptashrungi Mata temple. The Prime Minister and Chief Minister have expressed grief over this incident.
Nashik: Six people died tragically when a car fell into a gorge about 800 feet deep. This accident happened at Saptashringi Garh Ghat in Kalvan taluka in Nashik, Maharashtra. An Innova car filled with six people, residents of Nashik, met with an accident at around 4 pm.
Those who died include Kirti Patel (50), Rasila Patel (50), Vitthal Patel (65), Lata Patel (60), Vachan Patel (60) and Maniben Patel (70). Police and rescue workers are trying to bring the bodies up.
The Prime Minister has expressed grief over this incident. Calling it a very tragic accident, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has announced financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to the family of each deceased. All six people who died were members of the same family. He was going to Saptashrungi Mata Temple of Nashik. They were traveling in train number MH 15 BN 555.
According to initial reports, the vehicle skidded off the road at the top of the mountain and fell into a ditch. The real reason for the accident has not been clear yet.
