Lord Shiva was born as the son of his great devotee Dadhichi Muni. Lord Brahma had kept Pippalad of Dadhichi Muni’s son. Because Pippalad was born under a Peepal tree. Due to this Shani’s legs were broken. Then Shani Dev became very sad and started calling Lord Shiva. After this Mahadev came and protected Shani Dev. Also calmed Pippalad’s anger. It is believed that after this, Shani Dev started walking lame and he became afraid of Pippalad.
