Ahmedabad News: Passengers faced a lot of trouble due to the cancellation of an Indigo flight at Sadar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport on Saturday. Long lines, disappointed faces and a surge of emotions were clearly visible at the airport.

Passengers seen nervous and crying at the airport

Due to cancellation of Indigo flights, long queues formed at the airport. Many passengers waited for hours, while some were seen crying, unable to control their emotions. Both those traveling with family and traveling alone were affected. The crying passenger said, “My problem is that I have been at the airport for four days. They are changing my flight again and again. When I came to the airport to drop my luggage, I came to know that the flight was cancelled. There was no message or email. They rescheduled it for the next day. I came the next day, and that too got cancelled. Then they rescheduled it for this morning, and that too got cancelled. I am a neurologist and I got admitted in Medanta. Since my flight got cancelled, they called me and asked me to board the flight.

Travel plans spoiled due to sudden cancellation

A passenger, Maharishi Jani, expressed his grief. He told ANI, “I had to go to Guwahati and had a connecting flight from Kolkata. The flight was around 6:15 in the morning. We were selected for the Smart India Hackathon 2025. Around 74,000 ideas were submitted, and around 1,400 were selected. Our center was North-Eastern Hill University. We were supposed to go there and perform, but we had to go there and perform, both inbound and outbound, of IndiGo. Took the flight. Because of the flight delay, we won’t be able to go.

The airport administration tried to help the passengers by providing extra staff and counters. Indigo Airlines expressed regret on social media, saying that flights were affected due to weather and technical reasons. The airline also offered rebooking and refund.
