Direction:- Place the horseshoe on the top (outside) of the frame of the main door of the house. It is auspicious to place it in the north, west or north-west direction. One should avoid placing horseshoe in east or south-east direction.
Size and position:- Always put horseshoe in U shape so that it prevents good luck. It should be kept open (open upwards).
Selection of cord:- A real, worn out and black horseshoe at the door of the house is considered the most auspicious, because it is filled with positive energy.
Time:- Horseshoe should always be applied in the morning after bathing, after drying it in the sun rays. Applying it at night is considered inauspicious.
Importance of Saturday:- Applying the shoe of a black horse on Saturday pleases Lord Shanidev and provides relief from Shani Dosh (Sade Sati/Dhaiya).
Do not use such cord:- Never use a broken, rusty or fake cord, it can have negative effects.
