The airline further said, “We will give a full waiver on all cancellation/reschedule requests of your booking for travel between December 5, 2025 and December 15, 2025.” The statement ended with an apology, “We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused to you.”
The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) directed Indigo Airlines to clear all pending passenger refunds without delay. According to an official release, the ministry has mandated that the refund process for all canceled or disrupted flights should be completed by 8:00 pm on Sunday, December 7. The ministry has also directed airlines not to charge any rescheduling fee from passengers whose travel plans were affected due to cancellation. It stressed that the ministry will take immediate regulatory action within its powers on any delay in processing refunds.
To ensure easy redressal of complaints, IndiGo has been directed to set up a dedicated passenger assistance and refund facility cell. These cells are tasked with proactively contacting affected passengers and ensuring that refunds and alternative travel arrangements are processed without multiple follow-ups. The automatic refund system will remain active until operations are completely stabilised.

The Ministry has directed IndiGo to ensure that all luggage lost from passengers due to cancellation or delay is traced and delivered to the passenger’s residential or chosen address within the next 48 hours. Airlines have been asked to maintain clear communication with passengers regarding tracking and delivery timelines and provide compensation where necessary under the existing passenger rights rules. Earlier today, the Civil Aviation Ministry took serious note of concerns regarding unusually high airfares being charged by some airlines during the current disruption.
