From sky-high ticket prices to endless waits, the meltdown sparked fury – what’s behind this aviation crisis? Dig in to know more about how the celebs are reacting to it.
Celebs’ reaction after IndiGo flight cancellations
IndiGo flights faced huge disruptions over the past few days, with over 1,000 cancellations reported at major hubs like Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Mumbai. The issues stem from operational problems, crew shortages, and new Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL) rules starting November 1. Passengers crowded terminals in anger, as rival airlines hiked fares triple times, making last-minute travel a costly ordeal.
Dancer-actor Lauren Gottlieb was spotted outside Mumbai airport, fuming after her Dubai flight got axed. “This is a public service announcement. Do not take IndiGo. Everything you are seeing online is so… what’s happening. It looks like the apocalypse inside,” she told the paparazzi. She added, “All the flights to Dubai, where I am going, have been cancelled! Everything cancelled. There are hundreds of people in there. It looks like some disaster has happened, and I feel trauma right now. Do not fly IndiGo, especially now, maybe not ever.”

Actor Jay Bhanushali shared his frustration on Instagram Stories after a long road trip to Pantnagar for a late-night flight back to Mumbai. “After so many hours of travel, I deserve to be welcomed with this song.. Thank you, Indigo, for the unplanned extended trip,” he wrote sarcastically, posting with the patriotic track ‘Desh Mere’.
Singer Rahul Vaidya faced one of his worst travel days, shelling out Rs 4.20 lakhs on multiple Goa-Mumbai tickets after repeated cancellations. “One of the worst days to fly! And we have a show in Kolkata tonight… and still don’t know how we are going to reach there!” he posted on Instagram with a selfie. “These boarding cards are worth 4.20 lakhs, and it’s just till Bombay… and now Mumbai to Kolkata will be separate. This is the most expensive domestic travel ever done by,” he vented.

Other stars like Aly Goni joined the outrage, calling out price hikes: “It’s high time India should have one more domestic airline… poore desh ki buri halat kardi @IndiGo6E ne… Aur sone pe suhaga Baaki airlines ne prices triple kardiya. Kya chor aviation hai yaar humaare yaha.. unreal.” He also urged sympathy for ground staff: “Indigo ka fault hai.. ground staff ka nahi.. idiot log.” Nia Sharma and Naresh Vijaya Krishna also paid steep prices on Air India to escape the mess.
IndiGo apologised twice for the “significantly disrupted” operations, but chaos continued. The Civil Aviation Ministry ordered quick fixes, while DGCA formed a panel to probe lapses. Celebs’ outbursts highlight passenger pain amid the skies’ meltdown.
