In the Sonbhadra codeine cough syrup case, SIT raided the house of Varanasi chartered accountant Vishnu Aggarwal. Many financial revelations have been made after the arrest of Bhola Prasad, father of mastermind Shubham Jaiswal. The investigation team remained engaged in interrogation for three hours.
Varanasi. The investigation into the much talked about codeine cough syrup smuggling case of Sonbhadra is continuously deepening. The layers of gangster Shubham Jaiswal’s illegal business are beginning to be revealed and the police is reaching new places. After the arrest of father Bhola Prasad, the direction of the investigation has suddenly changed. In this sequence, on Friday, the SIT team reached the house of chartered accountant Vishnu Aggarwal in Varanasi, where intensive interrogation continued for three hours.
Interrogation lasted for three hours, SIT raid increased the commotion
Sonbhadra SIT team reached the residence of CA Vishnu Aggarwal located in a posh area of Varanasi early in the morning. The team examined several documents and digital devices in the house to investigate Shubham Jaiswal’s alleged financial records, transactions and underground network. The interrogation lasted for about three hours. SIT is investigating to what extent Vishnu Aggarwal’s role was in Shubham’s network and with whom he was in contact.

Shubham’s father Bhola Prasad took the name of CA during interrogation.
Bhola Prasad, father of Shubham Jaiswal, the main accused in cough syrup smuggling, was recently arrested from Kolkata Airport. He was trying to escape to Thailand, but Sonbhadra police caught him from the airport. During interrogation during police remand, Bhola Prasad made many shocking revelations. He told that CA Vishnu Aggarwal used to handle the entire financial accounts of Shubham’s business worth crores of rupees. After this statement, SIT immediately became active and started action in Varanasi.
Who was CA in contact with? To which districts does the network extend?
This gang of cough syrup smuggling was spread in many states. According to investigating officers, Shubham supplied illegal cough syrup on a large scale through companies registered in his father’s name. Now the SIT is trying to find out how this network was funded, who were involved in it and whether other professionals or businessmen were also involved in the financial irregularities. Along with SIT, STF and police teams of other districts are also cross-checking the information received during the interrogation of Vishnu Aggarwal.
Possibility of more revelations of smuggling network
Sonbhadra Police is now busy finding the entire roots of this network of Shubham Jaiswal. Who were the people involved in smuggling of lakhs of vials, through whom the money was transferred and to which states the supplies were sent, investigation is going on on all these points. The investigating agencies are hopeful that after interrogating the CA, many more big names may come to light.
