During an examination at Montfort Inter College, Lucknow, 11-year-old student Aarav Singh suddenly fell unconscious and died within a few minutes. Doctors said the primary cause was cardiac arrest. There is deep shock in the school and family due to the incident.
Lucknow. An incident took place at the city’s prestigious Montfort Inter College on Friday morning, which left students, teachers and parents in deep shock. An 11-year-old student of class 6 was giving an examination when suddenly his breathing stopped. Within a few moments the child fell on the floor and there was chaos in the entire class. Everyone could not understand how an ordinary day could turn into such a huge tragedy.
The incident occurred around 10:45 in the morning. Sixth class examination was going on and student Aarav Singh was solving the question paper sitting on his seat. After a few minutes he suddenly fell down from the chair. Hearing the voice of his classmates, the teacher came running and tried to wake him up, but Aarav had already stopped breathing.

Ambulance was called, but doctors could not save his life
The school administration immediately called an ambulance and Aarav was taken to the emergency department of BRD Medical College. The doctors tried their best to save him, but there was no response. Chief Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Ranjit Dixit said that the child was brought in an unconscious state at 11:05. CPR and other emergency treatments were immediately started, but after about half an hour of efforts he had to be declared dead. In the preliminary investigation, cardiac arrest has been considered as the possible cause of death. However, the exact reason will become clear only after post-mortem.
The entire school including the family is in shock, exams postponed
When Aarav’s father Sandeep Singh got a call from the school, he immediately reached the hospital, but by then everything was over. The child’s mother and family members are crying inconsolably. The hospital staff told that it was becoming very difficult to handle the mother.
The school management described the incident as extremely tragic and postponed the examinations for the entire day. The children were discharged and sent home. Many students are mentally traumatized by this incident, who are being given assistance from the school counseling team.
Increasing cases of heart attack in children is a matter of concern
The number of cases of cardiac arrest and sudden death among young children and adolescents has increased in the last few years, which is also a cause of concern for medical experts. This incident that happened at Montfort Inter College brings this topic into discussion again.
Both the school and the family are unable to understand how a completely normal child suddenly collapsed and lost his life. At present the post mortem report is awaited, which will reveal the real reason.
