Paush Month 2025 Dos And Don’ts: Paush month is the tenth month of the Hindu calendar. The month of Paush has started from today. It will end on Monday, January 3, 2026. Yesterday was the full moon of Margashirsha month. Paush month is considered very sacred from religious point of view. This month is especially associated with Sun God. Lord Sun God is worshiped in this month.
Worshiping Sun God in the month of Pausha brings good fortune and health. In this month one should do Bhagwat Katha, Ramayana recitation, chanting, penance, satsang, bathing in Ganga etc. Sins are destroyed by these works. What to do in the month of Pausha?
In the month of Paush, put pure water, red sandalwood and red flowers in a copper pot and offer water to the Sun God. Chant their mantras while giving water. Recite Aditya Hridaya Stotra daily. Take bath in Ganga in this month. Worship Shri Hari Vishnu throughout the month of Pausha and do charity in the temple. Make sure to donate food in this month. Recite Bhagwat Geeta. On Amavasya and Purnima Tithi, perform Shraddha of ancestors and make donations.
What not to do in the month of Pausha?
Pausha month is considered to be the time of spiritual chanting and penance. In such a situation, do not consume non-vegetarian food and alcohol this month. Do not consume brinjal, radish, masoor dal, urad dal and cauliflower in this month. Keep distance from Tamasic and heavy food. Do not do marriage, housewarming or other auspicious work in this month. Do not insult anyone in this month.
