- Bandhani is a tie-and-dye technique in which fabric is tied tightly with thread at small places and then dipped in dye. Banded areas do not absorb the color and become white dots.

- Small dots are made in Bandhani, which are called ‘Bandhe’. Patterns like net, waves, quartet, bell-butte are formed from these.
