New Delhi: Australia’s Assistant Minister Julian Hill MP kicked off his visit to India by underscoring the strength of the partnership between our country and Australia.
He laid the foundation for Victoria University, Melbourne, Australia’s first-ever overseas campus in Gurugram. Assistant Minister Hill also visited Swaminarayan Akshardham, New Delhi Temple, reflecting on the deep cultural ties between our nations, and addressed a full house at the India-Australia Business Summit 2025, highlighting our shared strategic priorities and thriving economic cooperation.
Australia’s High Commissioner to India and Ambassador to Bhutan, Philip Green, took to X and said, “Assistant Minister @JulianHillmp took in the serene beauty of Swaminarayan Akshardham temple, meeting with GM Swami Ji. Hinduism is a wonderful part of the living bridge between our countries.”
Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple was constructed in 2005 and has become a major point of interest for both Indian and international visitors. It is famous for its ornate carvings and calm surroundings, and the complex offers more than a place of worship. Its exhibitions span India’s historical achievements in art, science, and spirituality. One of its main attractions, the Sanskruti Vihar boat ride, takes visitors through animated displays of ancient Indian life and learning. In recent years, former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, New Zealand’s Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, and US Vice President JD Vance have each visited the site.
