In the last 8 years, Yogi government has given a new identity to incubation based innovation in UP. 76 active incubation centers are helping youth take the path from idea to industry. The government aims to make centers in every district and UP the top startup hub.

Lucknow. Yogi Adityanath government has given a new identity to incubation based innovation in Uttar Pradesh in the last eight years. Today a total of 76 incubation centers are active in the state. These centers provide assistance to youth and students in the entire process of converting their ideas into successful ventures. The government’s aim is to create such an environment in every district where youth can start their startups in a safe and organized manner. In this direction, financial assistance, technical guidance and expert network are being provided.

What are incubation centers and why are they important?

Incubation center is a place where all the resources required to convert a new idea into a successful business are available in one place. It is the center that provides guidance and support to a startup from its initial stage to becoming a strong business.

Many challenges of entrepreneurs have been reduced by getting the incubation centre. Here they get all the facilities like initial training, legal advice, market related information, technical support, contact with investors at one place. This significantly increases the chances of the startup being successful. These centers have strengthened the spirit of entrepreneurship among the youth and given them the confidence to take risks.

Thousands of youth made their mark in eight years

In the last eight years, thousands of youth associated with incubation centers have made a significant mark in their respective fields. Many startups related to agricultural technology, education, healthcare and digital services have proved their usefulness at the state and country level. Status of incubation centers before 2017

Before the year 2017, the number of incubation centers in Uttar Pradesh was only between 12 to 15. These centers were limited to only a few selected universities and technical institutes. There was neither any policy regarding their expansion nor a clear structure of the startup ecosystem.

Expansion of incubation network in Yogi government

In the year 2017, Yogi Adityanath government implemented a new startup policy. After this, extensive expansion of incubation centers started in the entire state. Today 76 incubation centers are active in Uttar Pradesh and many new centers are in the process of being established.
