New Delhi: Jasprit Bumrah is reportedly ready to play in the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 and has already informed the selectors that he is available for the tournament. The continental tournament will be played in T20 format this year and is set to get underway on September 09 in the UAE. India will open their campaign against UAE on September 10.
The Ajit Agarkar-led selection panel will meet in Mumbai on Tuesday, August 19 to pick India’s squad for the tournament. There were doubts over Bumrah’s participation in the Asia Cup 2025, considering his workload management. Bumrah played only three of the five Tests in the recently concluded Test series against England. However, the senior pacer is ready for the Asia Cup.
As per a report in the Indian Express, Bumrah spoke to the selectors a few days ago and confirmed that he will be available for selection. “Bumrah has informed the selectors that he will be available for Asia Cup selection. The selection committee will meet and discuss it when they meet next week,” a source was quoted as saying by the Indian Express.
