The third and last match of the three-match ODI series between India and South Africa will be played in Visakhapatnam on 6 December. This match will be do or die for both the teams, because the series is currently tied at 1-1. Everyone’s eyes are going to be on Virat Kohli in this match. King Kohli is back to his old colors once again. By scoring centuries in two consecutive matches, Virat Kohli has proved that if he is in form, then any bowling attack in the world proves to be dwarf in front of him. In the last match of the series, he also has a chance to repeat a big feat of 7 years.
Will Virat Kohli do this miracle again?
Virat Kohli started this series with a brilliant inning of 135 runs, which also led Team India to victory. Whereas, in the second match, Virat played a century innings of 102 runs, however the team had to face defeat in this match. After scoring two consecutive centuries, he is now at a position where another century will give him a special place in the special pages of cricket history. He has a big chance to score a hat-trick of centuries in ODI cricket.
Virat Kohli has scored three consecutive centuries only once in his entire ODI career. He did this feat against West Indies in 2018. If he scores a century in the last match against South Africa, it will be the second hat-trick of centuries in his career. In the history of ODI cricket, scoring a hat-trick of three consecutive centuries is a big achievement in itself, and doing it twice is even more special. Till now, only Babar Azam of Pakistan has been able to do this feat twice, he did it for the first time in 2016 and for the second time in 2022. If Virat does this, he will become the second member of this special club along with Babar.
Special connection with Visakhapatnam
The special thing is that when Virat Kohli scored a hat-trick of centuries against West Indies in the year 2018, one of those centuries was scored in Visakhapatnam only. He scored an unbeaten 157 runs in the match played in Visakhapatnam. Now after 7 years, Virat has a chance to repeat history on the same ground.
