What are the names of the chapters of Ramcharit Manas?
Shri Ramcharit Manas written by Goswami Tulsidasji has 7 chapters i.e. the first of these is Balkand which describes the childhood of Lord Shri Ram. After this, in the Ayodhya case, it has been told about Shri Ram being sent to exile and in the third case, Shri Ram has been told about going to the forest. The fourth incident is Kishkindha incident when Shri Ram reaches Kishkindha. The fifth Kand is Sunderkand which describes the search for Mother Sita by Hanumanji. Why is Sundar Kand named Sundar Kand?
The most important event of Sunderkand is the search for Goddess Sita by Hanumanji. Everyone knows that this incident took place in Ashok Vatika. According to Valmiki Ramayana, Lanka was situated on Trikuta mountain. It had three parts, the part on which Ashok Vatika was located was named Sundar. Since the most important incident of Sunderkand took place on Sundar Parvat, hence this incident was named Sunderkand.
