Employees Provident Fund Organization i.e. EPFO has made some important changes. After which it will be easy for users to link Aadhaar with their universal account number (UAN) and change their personal details. The aim of the new rules is to accelerate provident fund services, reduce paperwork and ensure timely payment.
The most important thing is that now there will be no need to give a guardianship certificate to the minor children of the deceased members. Also, EPFO will also help in opening their account. So that the money of the deceased members can be transferred directly to the account of minor children. Let us also tell you what kind of rules have been changed by EPFO.
If there are detail matches then link Aadhaar-UAN directly
Asana Process: If Aadhaar and UAN matches your name, gender and date of birth in records, now you can contact your employer directly.
Employee portal: The employer can then complete the base seeding through the KYC function on the employer portal.
No additional approval needs: An additional approval from EPFO is no longer required for this process.
Simplephified Joint Declaration on MissMach details
In the event of Aadhaar and UAN detail matches or wrong Aadhaar link, the Joint Declaration (JD) system has also been made easier.
How to fix online: Employers can now submit JD request online to correct details like name, gender or date of birth. This will also apply to cases where the incorrect Aadhaar number is linked.
Physical Submission: If a company is closed or an employer is not available, the member can submit a physically JD form. This form verified by authorized officers can be submitted to the Public Relations Officer (PRO) counter, which will upload it for the process after verification.
However, it is important to note that changes made in already verified Aadhaar details will not be approved.
Timely payment to minor benefits
Guardianship Certificate is not required: Minor benefit has also been given great relief. The EPFO no longer needs a guardianship certificate to settle the claim of minor children of the deceased member.
Direct Bank Deposit: Both lump sum settlement and pension amount can be deposited directly in the bank account of the child.
Help of PRO: To streamline this process, EPFO officials have been instructed to help the contenders to open the account for minors so that they can be paid on time and hassle -free payments on time.
How to link Aadhaar online with UAN?
- Any user can easily link its base to UAN using the government’s platform, UMANG mobile app.
- First open the UMANG app and log in using your MPIN or OTP.
- Go to the “Service” tab and choose the “EPFO” option.
- Under the EPFO option, select “E-KYC Service”.
- Select “Aadhaar Seeding” option.
- Enter your UAN and then enter OTP sent to the registered mobile number.
- Enter your Aadhaar details and verify the OTP sent on the mobile number and email related to Aadhaar.
- After the verification process is completed and successful, your Aadhaar will be linked to UAN.
Although the initial linking can take place in a few minutes, but actual verification and approval by the authorities may take up to 15 days. Usually, this process takes about 3-5 days to complete.
