Kia Shares Entry-Level Electric SUV Teaser Images – What To Expect

Adding a new chapter to its global EV push, Kia has now announced a new entry-level electric SUV called the EV2. The B-segment electric SUV will be unveiled at the Brussels Motor Show on January 9, 2026. It features Kai’s latest design philosophy and elements such as the signature LED DRLs and will offer urban-friendly dimensions along with a host of smart EV features.

Apart from being Kia’s entry-level EV, the new EV2 will also be the brand’s most affordable and compact electric offering for the retail market. It would be Kia’s contender in the growing compact electric car segment that is catching pace in global markets such as Europe. While Kia has not officially revealed any technical details about the upcoming EV2, it is expected that the compact EV will share critical components with the Hyundai Inster EV that comes with multiple battery pack options.

Sold in international markets, the Inster offers a 42 kWh and a 49 kWh battery option with a claimed range of 327 km or 355 km, respectively. Both battery pack options offer a single electric motor that generates up to 113 hp in higher variants and 147 Nm of torque. For perspective, the Tata Punch.ev compact e-SUV sold in India offers a 35 kWh battery pack in its long-range version.

Other smart EV features that can be expected from the Kai EV2, based on this information, could also include 120 kW of fast-charging capacity, an 11 kW on-board charger, a Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function with bi-directional charging and ADAS autonomous safety functions as well.

For those wondering if Kia plans to bring the EV2 to India eventually, there is bad news as the carmaker has announced the compact EV exclusively for the European market for now. However, the EV2 would certainly be suitable for urban car buyers in our country as well. In other news, Kia will also showcase the GT versions of its EV3 and EV4 hatchback models at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show, alongside the new EV2.
