Varanasi, December 4: After the inauguration of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham situated on the banks of Uttar Vahini Ganga, an unprecedented increase is being seen in the number of Baba’s devotees. The new grand Dham, inaugurated on 13 December 2021, has written a new chapter of religious tourism along with the conservation of cultural heritage. In four years, more than 26 crore devotees have attended Baba’s court, not only this, a large number of foreign guests are also attracted by the aura of Baba Vishwanath Dham. Due to all-round development of Kashi by Yogi Adityanath government, expansion of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham, facilities, ease and security, Baba’s devotees have made a record of attendance in the court of Mahadev.
What is special in the new Vishwanath Dham
Better arrangements for the convenience of the devotees The revival of Vishwanath Dham has not only enhanced the spiritual dignity of the temple but has also provided ease and convenience to the devotees. Vishwa Bhushan Mishra, Chief Executive Officer of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust, said that good arrangements have been made for the facilities of the devotees in the temple. Facilities like German hangers to protect from cold, rain and scorching heat in summer, mats, coolers, drinking water to protect the feet from burning sensation in summer, free wheel chairs for the elderly, disabled and handicapped people in Saavan, golf carts, canopy during summer, ORS, medical arrangements etc. have made it easier for the Shiva devotees to reach Baba’s doorstep.
The face of Kashi changed due to the efforts of Yogi government
The efforts of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath have given Kashi a new identity on the map of world religious tourism. The Chief Minister himself attends Baba Darbar on an average once or twice a month and reviews the arrangements for every small and big facility of the devotees and gives necessary instructions. The all-round development of the city has not only proved beneficial for the local people, but the number of tourists coming from India and abroad is also continuously increasing.
Grand expansion ranging from 3 thousand to 5 lakh square feet
After the expansion of the Kashi Vishwanath Dham complex from about three thousand square feet to a huge area of about five lakh square feet, devotees are flocking to the Dham to have darshan. After the inauguration of the new and grand Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham on 13 December 2021, the number of Shiva devotees attending Baba’s court has increased manifold.
The influx of devotees increases every year after 13 December 2021
Chief Executive Officer of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust, Vishwa Bhushan Mishra said that four years of the inauguration of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham is being completed on 13 December 2025. By December 2, 2025, the number of people coming here for darshan has reached more than 26 crore, 23 lakh 56 thousand. Now on an average, more than 6.5 crore devotees are visiting Baba every year.
