The Founder’s Week of Maharana Pratap Education Council was inaugurated in Gorakhpur, in which Lt. General Yogendra Dimri inspired the students to adopt discipline and dedication. He said that true patriotism lies in performing one’s duty, protecting the environment and becoming a good citizen.
Foundation Week Gorakhpur: The Founder-Week Celebration 2025 of Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad organized in Gorakhpur was inaugurated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Vice Chairman, Uttar Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (UP ADRF), Lieutenant General Yogendra Dimri (Retd.) attended the program as the chief guest.
Inspiring students to adopt the values of discipline and dedication
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Lieutenant General Yogendra Dimri said that students should learn values like courage, discipline, equality, dedication and commitment from the life of Maharana Pratap. He said that real patriotism is not just showing bravery at the border but also performing one’s duties honestly, protecting the environment and being a good citizen of the society.
Appreciation of the institute based on Indian educational values
He praised the establishment of Maharana Pratap Education Council and its contribution to national service. He said that when the country was under British rule and British influence, Indian culture and values were preserved by establishing Kashi Hindu University in 1916 and Maharana Pratap Education Council in Gorakhpur in 1932. He expressed respect and gratitude towards Mahant Digvijaynath, National Saint Mahant Avedyanath, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and all the teachers.
Message to take inspiration from the life of Maharana Pratap
Lieutenant General Dimri said that the life of Maharana Pratap is a symbol of sacrifice, self-sacrifice and unwavering dedication. Even without the support of Rajput kings, he faced the Mughal Empire and showed indomitable courage. He told that whether it was Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj of the 17th century or the revolutionaries of the 19th-20th century – all of them took inspiration from Maharana Pratap.
Discipline and adherence to duty is the key to success
Sharing his experience, he said that only those youth are selected in the army, who keep discipline, devotion and dedication paramount. He motivated the students to participate in competitions and said that it is not important to win or lose, but the effort is important. He gave the message of continuous efforts by citing the Bhagavad Gita’s verse “Karmanyevadhikaraste…” and the example of Sachin Tendulkar’s life.
Advice to be aware of technology, AI and robotics
He asked the students to be alert to the changing technology, artificial intelligence and robotics, as both strong character and understanding of technology will be necessary for success in the future. He also said that real victory is over the mind, and real power is not in weapons, but in values.
