The next round of talk of India and the US proposed Bilateral Trade Agreement is going to be held on 25 August. But before that, bad news has come out about this meeting. This visit of the American team coming to India for talks can be postponed for the later date. So far, five rounds of talks for the proposed BTA have been completed and the sixth round of talks are to be held in India. This dialogue is scheduled from 25-29 August. The officer, on the condition of anonymity, said that the program of this journey is likely to be a resade. The postponement of the meeting or being a resade is important in the sense that the US has announced a huge fee of 50 percent on Indian goods. By the way, no official statement or reason has been revealed about this.

Does Putin-Trump meet affect?

The talk of American team not coming to India, US President Donald Trump has come to light a day after a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska. Trump and Putin’s meeting has proved to be inconclusive about war. President Putin put the side of Russia and invited Trump to come to Moscow for the next meeting. On the other hand, Trump favored the direct peace talks instead of a gradual ceasefire, yet no definite solution was found during the meeting. Experts believe that India’s energy and defense relations with Russia have troubled America a lot. Which is further increasing the tariff controversy.

Trump’s implements of imposing 50 percent tariff on India

The Trump administration has announced a 50 percent tariff on Indian products coming to the US market. The first installment of 25 percent came into effect from 7 August. The second installment of 25 per cent will be applicable from August 27, which has been imposed due to purchasing crude oil from Russia. According to reports, the US is pressurizing India’s agriculture and dairy markets – these are politically sensitive areas from which New Delhi has been continuously surviving. Indian officials argue that leaving their land in these areas will threaten the livelihood of small and marginal farmers.
