Yogi government has started strict action against illegal Rohingya and Bangladeshi citizens in UP. 17 municipal bodies have been instructed to prepare a list of suspected foreign nationals. Construction of detention centers and investigation of fake documents has been intensified in every division.
Lucknow. Following the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh Police has started a decisive operation against Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltrators living illegally in the state. The Chief Minister has asked 17 municipal bodies of the state to immediately prepare a list of all suspected foreign nationals working there. The aim of the government is that no person trying to settle in UP by making fake documents should be spared.
Preparations for setting up detention centers in every division intensified
All the Police Commissioners and Inspectors General of Police of the state have been instructed to build detention centers in the first phase. Illegal foreign citizens will be kept in these centers until the process of sending them to their native country is completed. Vacant government buildings, community centres, police lines and police stations are being identified in the districts. These will be developed as high-security places, so that strict surveillance can be kept on the people living there.
Fake identity cards will be exposed through thorough scrutiny of documents
Government investigation has revealed that many Rohingya and Bangladeshi citizens were trying to show themselves as local residents by getting Indian identity cards made. For this reason, large-scale verification of suspicious documents has been started.
Like other states, the detention centers to be built in Uttar Pradesh will also be run under the joint supervision of administration and police, so that the entire process remains transparent and safe.
