Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta had received a complaint against Fortis Shalimar Bagh Hospital in a public hearing. After this he ordered immediate investigation of the hospital. The hospital management has said that they will cooperate fully in the investigation.
New Delhi. Fortis Hospital in Delhi’s Shalimar Bagh said on Friday that it will cooperate fully in the investigation after Chief Minister Rekha Gupta ordered an investigation. Fortis said in its official statement, “When we formally receive information from the authorities, we will review it and provide full cooperation in the investigation. Patient safety and care is our top priority.”
Action started after complaint in public hearing
This whole matter started when a person complained against the hospital in the ‘public hearing’ of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. After this, the CM immediately directed the district administration to investigate Fortis Hospital.
CMO’s team inspected the hospital, initial investigation found irregularities
According to the Delhi Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), a team of officials visited the hospital on Thursday and conducted an on-the-spot investigation. CMO told,
Acting on a complaint received in the CM public hearing, Honorable Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta directed the district administration to immediately investigate Fortis Hospital, Shalimar Bagh. A team of officials inspected the hospital on the spot. Some errors have been found in it. A detailed report will be prepared and it will be examined in detail.
Strict action will be taken if found guilty in investigation
The CMO also made it clear that the government will not tolerate any kind of negligence. If any irregularities are proved in the investigation, strict action will be taken. The statement said, “It is the duty of every hospital in Delhi to serve the patients responsibly and honestly. There can be no compromise on the right of patients to get timely and respectful care.”
Delhi government approves Building and Construction Workers Health Scheme
Earlier, the Delhi government had also approved ‘Building and Construction Workers Health Scheme’ in a cabinet meeting. Under this scheme, about 10 lakh people including 2.7 lakh registered construction workers and their families will get cashless treatment facility.
“Delhi government has approved the ‘Building and Construction Workers Health Scheme’, which will provide cashless healthcare to around 10 lakh beneficiaries, including 2.7 lakh registered construction workers and their families. With treatment up to ₹2 lakh for workers and ₹10 lakh for their families, annual health checkup, empaneled hospitals, emergency medical support and mobile medical units, Delhi is strengthening the social security of its workforce,” the CMO said.
Laborers and families will get cashless treatment up to ₹ 10 lakh
Every registered laborer will get treatment up to Rs 2 lakh in the empaneled hospitals, while for the family this limit will be up to Rs 10 lakh. The entire treatment will be cashless, due to which there will be no financial burden on the workers and their families.
Health checkup, OPD, IPD and mobile medical units also available.
This scheme also includes annual health checkup of registered laborers and their spouses. Apart from this, the beneficiaries will also get free OPD and IPD services, diagnostic and lab facilities, emergency medical help and referral services. Health services will also be provided through mobile medical units in construction sites and areas with high population of labourers.
Digital health records and 24×7 helpline will provide better facilities
According to the Chief Minister, under this scheme, digital health records of the beneficiaries will be created and a modern tracking system will also be developed to ensure transparency in the delivery of services. A 24×7 toll-free helpline will also be started to help the workers.
Government will spend Rs 200 crore annually, PM Modi also mentioned
He further said that the scheme is not limited to just providing healthcare services, but is a comprehensive social security initiative aimed at improving the quality of life of workers and their families. The government expects to spend approximately Rs 200 crore annually on this scheme. The Chief Minister said that the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always given top priority to the welfare of the poor, laborers and those working in the unorganized sector.
