The sermons of Vrindavan’s popular saint and spiritual guru Premanand Ji Maharaj often go viral on social media. This time a video of Premanand Maharaj went viral, in which he talked about giving flour or rice to a beggar.
Recently, a devotee asked Premanand Maharaj that if a beggar asked for flour or rice and then sold it and drank alcohol, would we also be guilty of sin? Let us know what Maharaj ji has said on this question.
What if a beggar drinks alcohol by alms?
If we give alms like flour, rice, pulses or anything else to a beggar and he sells it and consumes alcohol, will we also be accused of his sin? On this question, Premanand Maharaj said, “Yes, this is definitely wrong. If he consumes alcohol or does any other wrong thing with the alms given by you, then you will also become guilty of sin. In such a situation, it is best to feed the beggar.”
What to do if saints and sages ask for alms?
Premanand Maharaj further said that if any saint or saint comes to your door and asks for alms, then politely ask him for food or give him bread to eat. Food and money should be given very thoughtfully. If he tells you that if you did not give him money or food, you will be cursed, then he cannot be a saint. Only great men have the ability to give curses and blessings.
What if saints curse if you don’t pay money?
Maharaj ji told that the saints and sages who ask for money in the name of alms are extreme hypocrites. Even if they curse you, it cannot harm you at all. If you feel any pain when they abuse or curse, it is just a coincidence. To inflict pain is only in the hands of God. No capable Mahatma can abuse or curse you for not giving alms, because he is very content. If you tell them no once, they will happily go away without saying anything, because they have acquired so much capability.
definitely do this work
Premanand Maharaj says, “We promise you that no one can do you any harm if you do not give alms. The only thing you should do is that if someone comes to your door, feed him, if he has no clothes to wear, give him clothes and if he is sick, then get him medicine. You can do so much service, but you should give the money thoughtfully. Because if he consumes alcohol or meat with the money given in your alms, then you will also be accused of his sin.”
