CM Yogi gave mantra to IPS officers – ‘Create identity through zero tolerance, prompt action and humane policing’

CM Yogi Adityanath gave the message to the trainee officers of IPS 2023–24 batch to adopt communication, sensitivity and positivity. He stressed on women safety, strict action on cyber crime and illegal drugs, understanding the functioning of police station-circle-police line.

Lucknow. On December 1, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met a total of 23 trainee officers of IPS 2023 and 2024 batch. He guided them to become effective, responsible and citizen-centric police officers.

Emphasis on zero tolerance and strong law and order

The Chief Minister said that a big state like Uttar Pradesh presents many challenges to the police. Therefore the trainee period should be considered as the best time to learn and develop your policing capability. He said that it is the supreme responsibility of the police to keep law and order strong, increase public relations and take prompt action.

Police’s responsibility as first responder

CM Yogi said that the police always reaches the spot first. Therefore, the promptness, language and behavior of the officer builds the trust of the victim. He asked the trainees to develop the ability to solve real problems and ensure satisfactory resolution of every complaint.

It is necessary to understand the functioning of police station, circle and police line.

CM said that during the training period, understand deeply the nature of police station administration, investigation, duty management and local disputes. He told that-

  • Police station is the foundation of policing
  • Circle is the center of coordination
  • Police line is the basis of resources and discipline

Only with the coordination of these three, the security system of a district becomes stronger.

Human connection is the greatest resource

The Chief Minister said that despite technology, human intelligence is the strongest weapon of a police officer. Communication with local people, presence in the field and public trust – all this makes an officer effective.

Dignified communication with public representatives is necessary

CM Yogi said that public representatives are the voice of the people. The communication of police officers should be moderate and respectful. Casual approach affects law and order.

Strict action on women safety, cyber crime and drugs

The Chief Minister particularly emphasized that-

  • Women’s safety should be top priority
  • Cyber ​​crime should be taken action with modern technology
  • Strict and swift action should be taken against illegal drug networks

He said that the nature of crimes is changing rapidly, hence the police will also have to make equally fast and modern preparations.
