Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated Madhya Pradesh’s first state-of-the-art Geeta Bhawan in Indore. A 550-seat auditorium, digital library, exhibition hall and modern cultural facilities have been provided in this building built under the Smart City project.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated Madhya Pradesh’s first government ‘state-of-the-art Geeta Bhawan’ on the auspicious occasion of International Geeta Mahotsav and Geeta Jayanti. He said that similar Geeta Bhawans will be built in all Municipal Corporations, Municipal Corporations and Nagar Panchayats. This new Geeta Bhawan of Indore is a unique combination of tradition and modernity. Under the Smart City project, the Gopal Mandir complex has been developed as a modern Geeta Bhawan, where many modern facilities have been provided for the citizens.
Chief Ministers’ address on the heritage of Malwa and the message of Geeta
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the glorious tradition of Malwa, devotion to Krishna and the message of Geeta gives direction to Madhya Pradesh. He told that Lord Krishna received education in Ujjain and Malwa region is associated with his Leelas. Remembering Queen Ahilyabai Holkar, he said that she rebuilt the pilgrimage sites across the country. The Chief Minister said that Geeta gives guidance at every stage of life and provides strength in times of crisis. Through Geeta, the path to salvation is found through devotion, knowledge and action.
Records and awards on Geeta Jayanti
The Chief Minister said that this year many new records have been made in the state on Geeta Jayanti. Announcing the winners of Gita competitions, he said that the winners are being given prizes like cash, e-rickshaw, e-bike, laptop etc. He said that the life of Lord Krishna gives the message of organization, courage, protection of religion and resistance to injustice.
Smart city project promotes cultural heritage
The Chief Minister said that through the Smart City Scheme of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, rapid development is taking place in the state along with conservation of heritage. Indore’s new Geeta Bhawan is a big effort in this direction.
Release and honoring of religious books
In the program, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav released two books of Veer Bharat Trust – ‘Shri Krishna Charit Manas’ written by Rameshwar Lakhanlal Patidar and ‘Amritsya Avantika’ written by Raghavdas Panditdas. He also announced to give five lakh rupees to the author of Shri Krishna Charit Manas. After this he also watched a dance drama based on Krishna Leelas directed by Sanjeev Malviya.
A day of pride for Indore – Mayor’s address
Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava said that this day is historic for Indore. The Chief Minister has gifted the modern Geeta Bhawan and developed Gopal Mandir complex to the city. He said that Geeta inspires us to follow our religion and duty. Today, new cultural energy is being seen in the state under the leadership of the Chief Minister.
Worship and observation by Chief Minister at Gopal Temple
Before the ceremony, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav prayed for the happiness and prosperity of the state by worshiping in the Gopal temple. He inspected the new facilities developed in the temple—especially the library and exhibition hall.
550 seat state-of-the-art auditorium facility
Under the Smart City Project, a magnificent 550-seat auditorium with attractive and technical facilities has been built in Gopal Mandir. Cultural programmes, discourses and educational programs can be easily organized here.
Library with digital and modern facilities
A 50-seat quiet reading hall and a modern digital library have been established in Geeta Bhawan. There is a collection of about 1200 books related to spirituality, philosophy, yoga, Indian culture and life management here. Easy access to e-books, audio-video lectures and online courses is available through the digital archive. The ambiance of the library offers a meditative ambiance featuring natural colours, spiritual artefacts, indoor plants and gentle lighting.
Exhibition hall containing religious heritage and art
Modern exhibition halls have been created in the redeveloped parts of the temple complex, thereby simultaneously ensuring the preservation and promotion of religious heritage, art and culture. This place has been developed as an inclusive cultural center for the public.
