How to make jaggery at home

To make jaggery at home, first take sugarcane and extract its juice. Use the ingredients according to the amount of jaggery you need, like take 2 to 3 liters of sugarcane juice. Filter it with the help of a fine cloth, which will remove the soil, straw and dirt present in it. Now pour this juice in a big pan and keep it to boil on low flame. It will slowly start releasing foam. Just keep in mind that keep removing the foam with the help of a spoon. While boiling, the sugarcane juice will gradually reduce and thicken. During this, keep the flame low and keep stirring continuously so that it does not stick to the pan.

In about 1 hour the juice will thicken and look like syrup. Now take cold water in a bowl and add one drop of syrup in it. If the drop spreads, it means it needs to be cooked a little more. If the drop solidifies and feels hard when pressed with fingers, then understand that the jaggery is ready. After it is cooked, turn off the gas. Now apply ghee in a plate. Now add this mixture into it. It will become very solid once it cools down. Now you can cut it into desired shape.

You can make many things with jaggery. Consuming gram and jaggery is also beneficial for health. Instead of sugar, you can add jaggery to halwa, kheer, tea and other things. Apart from this, jaggery and peanut chikki, laddu, jaggery strips and many other things are made from it. If a healthy person eats it in limited quantity, it can be beneficial.
