Raid in Saharanpur also, search at the house of Dr. Adil Ahmed Rather

In UP, another NIA team conducted raids in Saharanpur. Extensive searches were also conducted at the residence of Dr. Adeel Ahmed Rather, who was arrested in the first week of November. The agency suspects that many links of the economic and technical network related to the Delhi blasts can reach these locations.

NIA busy searching for ‘white-collar’ terrorist module

The main objective of all these raids is to expose a special type of module which is called white-collar terror module. This module does not resort to conventional weapons or violence, but instead:

  • financial fraud
  • money laundering
  • fraudulent transactions
  • Funding terrorism through means such as misuse of digital transactions.

These networks are usually run by educated, technically proficient individuals, making them extremely difficult for security agencies to detect and dismantle.

New clues found from action at several locations

After raids in Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh and other states, NIA has seized several digital devices, documents and records related to suspicious transactions. The investigation team is now conducting their forensic and technical investigation. At present, the agency has called it an important progress in the investigation of Delhi blast case.
