Kamath told Musk that his audience is full of young Indian founders looking for growth and risk taking ideas. Musk replied that the foundation of entrepreneurship remains the same. Create useful things and think long term.
Universal high income
Musk expects a shift from the idea of universal basic income to what he called “universal high income.” He said that as productivity rises, economies may move from scarcity to abundance. Machines could produce many goods and services cheaply. That could cause deflation instead of inflation, making living costs lower for everyone.
“Working might become optional,” Musk said. “It may be more of a hobby.”
India has one of the youngest workforces in the world. Every year millions of students finish college hoping to enter jobs in tech, finance or manufacturing. But if automation handles most routine work, career structures could look very different. Musk suggests that people might pick careers based on passion, not survival.
Education questions rise
India’s education system still focuses heavily on exams, degrees and competition for stable jobs. A future where robots and AI handle manual tasks and data tasks will require new thinking in schools and colleges. Students may need training in creativity, curiosity and problem solving.
This idea challenges governments, recruiters and young citizens to imagine new goals. Working for money may not define success forever.
