Due to increasing demand and computing load, Google and OpenAI have placed limits on their free AI tools. Free users will now have limited access to Gemini, Sora, and Nano Banana Pro, which includes 2 photos and 6 videos per day.
California: Google’s AI tools are used around the world. People create new photos using Nano Banana Pro. Similarly, creating videos using OpenAI’s Sora AI model is also quite popular. But now Google and OpenAI have given a blow to the users who use these tools for free. According to a Times of India report, Google has set a usage limit for free users of ‘Nano Banana Pro’ and ‘Gemini 3 Pro’ and OpenAI has set a usage limit for Sora AI users.
Why did AI companies impose limits?
According to reports, due to high demand and difficulties in computing, AI companies have taken this step of imposing limits on its use. From now on, people will be able to create photos and videos through these AI tools within a certain limit. Free users of Google’s Nano Banana Pro will now be able to create only two photos a day. Earlier this limit was of three pictures every day. Similarly, the free usage of Gemini 3 Pro has also been limited. This means that people who have not subscribed will not be able to ask Gemini more questions.
Heavy computational requirements a limitation for AI companies
At the same time, restrictions will also be imposed immediately on making videos using OpenAI’s Sora AI model. Bill Peebles, head of Sora at OpenAI, has announced a sharp reduction in video usage, citing the platform’s massive computational requirements. The company has confirmed that free users will now be able to create only six videos per day. When a user finds an AI-generated photo or asks a question, it puts a load on the GPU of the AI tools. When the load is high, it takes longer to answer the question and generate the photo. According to reports, to avoid this, tech companies have taken this step of imposing limits on free usage.
