Uttar Pradesh government has started the electricity bill relief scheme from December 1, 2025, which will run till February 28, 2026. In this scheme, 100% interest waiver on outstanding, 25% discount on principal amount and facility of payment in installments will be available. Domestic and commercial consumers can take advantage of this.
In this beginning of winter, the UP government has given such relief to electricity consumers, which can bring peace on the faces of many families. A new hope has arisen from December 1 for those who are worried about the outstanding bills that have been pending for months. The government has implemented the ‘Electricity Bill Relief Scheme’, under which for the first time, not only the entire interest charged on the outstanding amount will be waived off, but a direct discount of 25% on the original bill will also be available. This scheme, which will run till February 28, is no less than a golden opportunity for those consumers who, due to one reason or the other, were not able to pay their bills for a long time.
What is Electricity Bill Relief Scheme (OTS)?
The objective of the scheme is to increase recovery of electricity dues and provide financial relief to consumers. These benefits will be available under the scheme:
- 100% interest charged on outstanding bills is completely waived.
- 25% discount on principal amount for the first time
- Consumers can choose to make a lump sum payment or pay the bill in easy installments
- ₹2,000 deposited during registration will be adjusted in the bill later

Who will get the benefit?
According to Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation:
- Consumers with domestic connection up to 2 KW
- Consumers with commercial connections up to 1 KW
All of them will have the right to take advantage of this scheme.
